曾是台灣最快的光華號列車（DR2700型柴聯車），風光半世紀後，隨著花東鐵路電氣化完工通車，即將走入歷史。

「白鐵武士」光華號列車，是台鐵局首輛以以不銹鋼打造的高速列車，民國55年開始行駛西部縱貫線，創下當時台北－高雄間4小時45分最快行車紀錄，民國75年縱貫鐵路電氣化後，「白鐵武士」退居東部成為普通車，近30年的歲月裡，日復一日，始終擔任花蓮－台東間通勤(學)運輸任務。

隨著花東線鐵路電氣化完工，7月16日時刻調整後，台鐵局將開行備有空調且車廂宽敝舒適的電聯車，取代DR2700。白鐵武士完成階段性任務，將功成身退，不再擔負定期列車的任務。

台鐵訂於7月15日（星期二），開行以「DR2700型白鐵武士」擔綱末班普通車，於車頭懸掛光華號銘板，進行畢業巡禮。台鐵說，本次活動備有精美紀念品（限量1千份送完為止），全列車以6輛車廂行駛，歡迎民眾共襄盛舉，把握最後體驗白鐵武士的機會。

車次：4677次（玉里17:20→花蓮19:27）全車自由席。
