過去那些沒辦法擔任新球季開幕戰先發的賽揚獎得主是誰？連續7年，「虎王」Justin Verlander成為底特律老虎開幕戰先發人選，也意謂去年拿下賽揚獎的Max Scherzer在王牌爭奪戰中出局。老虎總教練Brad Ausmus坦承，延續Verlander的連續開幕戰紀錄最終左右了他的決定，Ju stin Verlander則認為，「能投這一場固然美好，但別否定Scherzer也是很好的投手。」 Ausmus說：「這是在賽揚與前賽揚得主中做選擇，由於過去6年Verlander都擔此大任，最後才做出這個決定。」而過去有哪些前一年拿到賽揚獎卻沒擔任新球季開幕戰的投手，Eric Gagne （2003）、D ennis Eckersley （1992）、 Steve Bedrosian（1987）、 Willie Hernandez（1984）、 Rollie Fingers（1981）、Bruce Sutter (1979）、Sparky Lyle (1977），上述7位以後援身分拿到賽揚獎，當然沒能當先發投手。至於Peter Vuckovich（1982）以及Jim Lonborg（1967）則是因為受傷沒辦法投球，最近幾年的例子還有老將Brad Radke擊敗第一次獲獎的Johan Santana（2004）、Roy Oswalt 也比下Roger Clemens（2004）、Tim Hudson取代Barry Zito（2003）。 http://www.dong.tw/mlb/news/20140318/00042564.html?1395123996 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 118.163.71.50
