美國總統歐巴馬20日在麻州瑪莎葡萄園舉行記者會，針對美國攝影記者佛里遭遜尼派聖戰組織「伊斯蘭國」（IS）斬首發表聲明。歐巴馬說，他已與佛里的家人通過電話並表達哀悼之意，接著批評IS追殺少數宗教民族，「不見容於21世紀」。

歐巴馬還向伊拉克和敘利亞喊話，表示美國將繼續支持他們，並盡其所能保護美國人。歐巴馬簡短發言後隨即離去，未開放記者提問。
