墨西哥蒂華納市警方在當地時間5月20日逮捕了一名5歲孩子的母親，因為這名母親竟然因為孩子未經她允許偷吃餅乾，而將孩子的雙手燒傷以作懲罰。

國際在線據墨西哥《阿茲台克消息》電視台官網報導，據當地警察局局長稱，是這名孩子的姥姥向警方報的案，老人19日去看望自己的孫子，發現孩子的雙手被嚴重燒傷，在詢問孩子情況後才知道，竟然是孩子的母親為了懲罰他偷吃餅乾而做出如此狠心的行為。

孩子的姥姥已向市檢察院提出控訴，並要求檢察院剝奪孩子母親的監護權。目前，被虐待兒童住在受家庭暴力危害的兒童的監管所內。
